Why Team Rise

RISE is a youth basketball development program dedicated to helping young players reach their full potential—both on and off the court. We believe that basketball is more than just a game; it's a platform for building character, leadership, and faith.

At RISE, we teach players not only how to develop their basketball abilities but also how to become leaders in their schools and communities. Our coaches model the principles of teamwork, perseverance, discipline, and service that reflect our Christian beliefs. We expect this from our parents as well.

Whether on the court or in the classroom, RISE players are equipped to compete hard, lift others up, and grow in faith.

Our Three Pillars of Success

Having a determined attitude is a choice. Being a good teammate is a choice. Not only do we look for skilled athletes, we look for great teammates. It is our goal to coach the whole athlete: mentally, physically, & emotionally.

Attitude

Communicating on and off the court is a choice. We emphasize communication because it is an import part of life and the game of basketball. It includes using our voice, getting touches (high five, fist bump, pat on back), encouragement, cheering, eye contact, feedback, and body language.

Effort is a choice. Practice matters! Some days your shots won't fall, but you can still hustle, defend, pass, and rebound to be an asset to your team. Just showing up is not enough. Our coaching staff will give you their best effort, so we expect the same from our athletes.

What do you get when you play for Team Rise?

SKILL DEVELOPMENT: Once teams are set, your coaches will send out the practice schedule. Expect to practice 2 days a week. Practices are in Sparta, Wisconsin. Practices are mandatory in order to earn playing time in tournaments. PRACTICE MATTERS!!!

COMPETITIVE TOURNAMENTS: We enter teams in 4 to 6 tournaments a season. This will be a team-by-team evaluation to determine the number of tournaments. Location of tournaments include Wisconsin Dells, Appleton, Madison, Minneapolis, Chicago and more.

SEASON: Late February to Late May.

REASONABLE PLAYER FEE: If your daughter makes the team, you will be required to pay half of your player fee up front. The player fee depends on the team you are on. In addition to this fee, you will be responsible for purchasing the uniform, hotels, food, travel, etc.

QUALITY COACHING: There will be parent coaches alongside current and past Varsity basketball coaches; Sami Weaver, Mitch Moths, Jo Thorsen, Heath Eliason, Andy Fernholz and more. All of our coaches are vetted before being selected to coach for our program. If you have an interest in coaching, please let us know ahead of time.

As a dedicated staff, we have a wealth of experience and passion for this basketball program. Our goal is to elevate the level of basketball in our region while fostering fun and disciplined environment. With years of coaching experience among us, we are committed to caring for daughters as if they were our own. Together, we aim to create an enjoyable experience where teamwork and effort are above all.
